52 Blue Psychology
A Sydney-based Clinical Psychology Service
52 Blue is a mysterious whale discovered in the Pacific Ocean, singing alone at an unusually high pitch—52 hertz. Whales usually communicate by echoing each other's songs, but no other whale has ever responded to 52 Blue. Because of this, 52 Blue is also known as "the world's loneliest whale."
It seemed to be calling out, but no one was answering.
The idea that this magnificent creature might be roaming the vast ocean, singing its song without any response, resonated deeply with us and stories we’ve heard in the therapy room.
We know that, despite our efforts to connect, many of us still feel the weight of loneliness, and the pain of not being seen or heard. Whether you're carrying the worries of constant change, the stress of significant life events, scars from early experiences, the deep grief of losing a loved one, or the challenge of adjusting to a new environment—you are not alone. We’re here to listen and you don’t have to face these challenges alone; together, we can begin to heal.

Our mission
In 52 Blue Psychology, we aim to provide therapy that are…
Collaborative
Beginning therapy is like embarking on a new journey. It’s good to do it with an experienced and trained therapist. Together, we can gain insights into yourself that were previously unexplored.
Empathic
Everyone is different. We strive to understand your unique experiences and perspectives by being in your shoes.
Reflective
We believe that growth often requires looking inward. We support you to develop awareness of your own beliefs, feelings and behaviours, and to be kind and understanding of the different parts of yourself.
Individualised
We utilise a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches while respecting your cultural background, life experiences and values to develop a personalised treatment plan to address your needs, goals and preferences.
Evidence-based
We’re dedicated to providing effective therapeutic interventions that are grounded in empirical evidence. By the end of the assessment, you’ll be advised on what evidence-based therapy we think may best suit your needs, along with the recommended length of therapy.
Trauma-informed
We’re committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where individuals who have experienced trauma can heal and develop the skills and resources needed for long-term well-being.
